A spiral wound gasket is comprised of a W cross-section thin metallic band (hoop) and a special high-temperature non-asbestos tape (filler). A spot weld is placed at the beginning and the end so that the spiral stays together.
Used as a sealing agent to stop the leak of exhaust fumes from automobile exhaust pipes.
Through using the uniquely developed special high-temperature non-asbestos tape in automobiles, it has also become possible to use the tape in high-temperature ranges. The gasket also boasts excellent sealing ability due to the spiral-wound structure.
